So, Beyonce launched her new perfume, HEAT, in February and let’s just say if we were describing the perfume ad, heat would be a BIG understatement. Although the perfume has been very successful, her new ad is creating more buzz than the product. The ad for the perfume has been deemed racy by Britain’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), who has banned the sexy commercial from running before 7:30 p.m., when kids are most likely to be sitting in front of the TV, reports WWD .
I saw the ad and it’s definitely racy. I mean, Beyonce is barely covered by this extremely small red silk robe and she is very… [Let’s just say sex sells]… with her movements. In my opinion, I wouldn’t expect anything less from Beyonce especially being the smart business woman that she is. The ad is intense but it fits who she is as an artist and a performer. The commercial segment would certainly not deter me from buying the fragrance, but I probably would feel a little uncomfortable seeing it on TV with my 9 year old sister-in-law in the room.
If you thought an ad was inappropriate would it stop you from buying the product? I mean yes it is a little over the top as most fragrance ads are, but we are talking about it and so are a lot of other people. So maybe the saying is true that any press is good press. Check out the video of the ad here and let me know your thoughts.
On another note we recently donated Millennium Software to Beyonce’s Cosmetology School in the Phoenix House located in Brooklyn, NY. The Phoenix House Foundation is committed to protecting and supporting individuals, families, and communities affected by substance abuse and dependency.
