Gap, the iconic American label has launched its new spring 2011 collection in London. I was really excited to check out the collection since Gap is one of my “go to” stores. Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) was the first to report on the launch, “Patrick Robinson unveiled Gap’s global spring collection on Wednesday night in London, and it’s packed with fluid, sophisticated looks and a part-pale, part-earthy color palette clearly inspired by the designer’s days working for Giorgio Armani in Milan.” Patrick Robinson is the head designer at Gap and is a California-born American fashion designer who has worked for such names as Giorgio Armani, Anne Klein, Perry Ellis, and Paco Rabanne. A graduate from the Parsons School of Design, Robinson has been a member of the Council of Fashion Designers since 1994 and was named one of Vogue‘s 100 rising stars in 1996.
Like I said, personally, I love Gap and even more so since Patrick Robinson has come on board. Both the men’s and women’s collections are super trendy and the price point is great. Check out www.gap.com for the latest looks.
Especially around the holidays, I always make my way to Gap. Both the men’s and women’s collections have those staple pieces we all need in our closets. You’ll always find that seasonless sweater or button shirt. Definitely a must for any wardrobe.
From what I have seen, the spring 2011 collection looks really strong. I love the light color pallet that includes tans, whites, and beiges. What are your thoughts on the collection? Will you be hitting up your local Gap store this holiday season?
