Creating a warm and welcoming environment at your salon or spa, will enhance the mood of your employees and clients. Additionally, holiday spirit coincides with the season of giving to help your business bring in extra revenue this month.

Getting into the holiday spirit doesn’t have to be an extravagant ordeal. There are plenty of little changes you can make that create that warm and cozy space that your clients are expecting this time of year.

Decorations. Nothing fosters holiday cheer quite like a beautifully decorated space. Adding a holiday touch to your salon or spa will help make your holiday appointments extra special. Seasonal retail will not only help promote holiday cheer, but also incentivize clients to purchase due to their limited availability.  A great retail selection this holiday season will also help attract customers who are looking to purchase gifts for loved ones. Music. Adding some cheerful holiday music really tops off the senses to inhibit a feeling of joy and happiness. Music affects the way we think, feel, and act. Studies show that when we hear enjoyable music, our emotions have an effect on the impression of our surroundings. Merchandise is evaluated more favorably. Service professionals seem friendlier. The happier clients feel, the more likely they are to remain at your salon or spa. The longer clients linger, the more opportunities there are to pre-book appointments, enroll in membership programs, or browse and purchase retail items.

Keep your employees happy.

A little holiday cheer can also help keep your employees motivated. The holidays are a busy time, and it’s easy to burn out before the year is over. Allowing your employees to still have a work-life balance during the holidays will make all the difference in their motivation and performance. Part of holiday spirit is spending time with loved ones.

Set a few holiday-focused goals for the month of December and create rewards that will be given when each goal is met.
