And just like that, another Millennium Experience is in the books. While there were so many amazing moments, we will do our best to recap in only ten.
#1 Meevo 2.0
Finally, the moment you’ve all been waiting for…Meevo 2.0! Millennium founder and CEO, John Harms, blew everyone away with his reveal of Meevo 2.0. With its groundbreaking features, incredible speed, and ease-of-use, it is bound to change our industry. Not to mention, it looks pretty darn sexy. Don’t want to say we told you so…but…
#2 Nick Arrojo Drops Knowledge
During his opening hair show, Nick Arrojo dropped a lot of knowledge, including, “be creative with your hands but knowledgeable with your business.” The industry icon not only wowed us with his presentation but also during his two breakout sessions. Attendees who took his classes were able to go home with advice from one of the best.
#3 Our Emcee, Martino Cartier
When M.C. is literally in his name, we knew Martino would be the perfect first official TME Emcee. From his electrifying energy to his snazzy wardrobe changes, Martino brought his A-game. “Greatness is contagious and if you’re around it, you’ll catch it,” he made the audience chant. We hope you all caught the greatness bug.
#4 Mark Bustos’s #BeAwesometoSomebody Stories
Mark Bustos’s moving stories before each general session reminded us that dreams need action. “I’m either expensive or free but never cheap. I live by those words,” says Bustos. We are so honored to be able to support #BeAwesometoSomebody and hope you will all consider how your gifts can be a powerful tool for changing someone’s life.
The Millennium Experience 2017
#5 A Presentation Starring Ted Gibson
Celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson knows how to rock our world. The looks he created just for The Millennium Experience were stunning and left us all speechless. Gibson also gave attendees the chance to try out his new educational platform, The Ted Gibson Advanced Academy. Wise words from Ted? “Know your worth.”
#6 Winn Claybaugh Reawakened Our Positivity
The Co-Owner and Dean of Paul Mitchell Schools is one of the best speakers in our industry and now our TME attendees understand why. Winn reminded us the power of positivity and love, and made every attendee make a phone call to a loved one. Another big take away from his keynote? When surrounded by negative people, it’s only a matter of time until you become negative yourself, and negativity has no place in the salon.
#7 Kyle Maynard Reminds Us Anything Is Possible
While it was really hard to keep Kyle’s keynote a surprise, it was worth it. Born with Congenital Amputation, Kyle could have had all the excuses in the world to give up. Instead, he made a decision to never let anything get in the way of his dreams. He’s an award-winning mixed martial arts athlete and has climbed some of the world’s highest mountains. He asked attendees to think deeply about what they really want in life and to go after it with his ‘no excuses’ mentality.
#8 Our Amazing Sponsors and Educators
Can we get a shout out to our amazing sponsors and educators? The Millennium Experience would be nothing without them. We created The Millennium Mall as an inviting place where our attendees can connect one-on-one with the industry’s best. We hope you soaked up all they have to offer.
#9 Our 30th Birthday Party: Roaring 20s Style’
From the live red carpet, to Martino Cartier splitting his pants, to a sparkling birthday cake, our feathers and fedoras party was nothing short of an amazing night. Thank you to all of our attendees who came dressed to the nines. There is no one we would rather celebrate the big 3-0 with.
#10 Our Amazing Millennium Family
Every year we look forward to spending time with our extended family at The Millennium Experience. You inspire us and remind us why we love this industry. So, thank you. Thank you for showing up, ready to learn and take home new tools to your business. Let’s take the world by storm.
