What is one thing we never seem to have enough of that causes fear, stress and anxiety? TIME.
Some of the most common questions we ask ourselves revolve around time. How will I get this done? When will I fit this in? No matter what your job is or your family life entails, time seems to be the monster under the bed for us all.
So how do we overcome our struggle with time? All it takes is a conscious effort to make a few small changes in our routine. Start with these helpful tips below.
Make a list of your short and long-term goals
Writing out your goals and the steps needed to reach them will help you better manage your time.
Start each day by creating a list of tasks you want to finish by the end of that day.
Start your week by creating a list of tasks you want to accomplish by the end of the week.
Organize and prioritize
Take advantage of an appointment book or calendar.
Organization is essential when it comes to managing time. It will help cut back on procrastination and allow you to accomplish more on your to-do list!
Schedule appointments with yourself
It’s easy to let meetings and interruptions run into your free time and keep you working late. Schedule appointments with yourself for things like lunch, meeting prep, even 5 minutes to stop and take a deep breath.
You can’t do everything and it’s okay. Become comfortable with delegating tasks to others. Sounds scary, but it will allow you to pay more attention to tasks YOU need to accomplish.
It’s okay to say no!
Do not give something your attention unless it is critical to your business; revisit it when you are done with the task at hand.
Did you complete all of your daily or weekly goals? Awesome! Treat yo’self!!
You don’t need to go out and buy a new car. Reward yourself with personal time.
Time management sounds a lot scarier than it is. By making a few small changes in how you approach daily and weekly tasks, you can accomplish a lot more in a lot less time without the headache.
